According to it, many Internet websites in Kyrgyzstan are advertising services to assist in applying for participation in the Green Card Lottery. Some intermediaries, visa agents or coordinators represent their services as legitimate activities.
«Despite the fact that this type of business or services has the right to exist, none of the firms is a representative of the Green Card Lottery or the Embassy of the United States of America. In fact, the application for participation in the Green Card Lottery through the website is simple and free,» the diplomatic mission stressed.
Moreover, some unscrupulous visa intermediaries, assisting applicants in preparing electronic forms for the lottery, saved a confirmation page for themselves. Then they demanded big money from the applicants in exchange for important information from their electronic questionnaire. Some intermediaries pushed the applicants for illegal actions in order the applicant to receive the necessary information in case of a win in the lottery.
«If the applicants want to use services of intermediaries, they must take measures in order to save a unique number of confirmation of the electronic questionnaire, which is issued at the end of its registration. There is no need to involve intermediaries in the Green Card Lottery, it can also lead to disqualification of the application or denial of a visa in case an intermediary enters wrong information in the electronic green card lottery application form.
