Inflow of foreign direct investment falls by 36 percent for 5 years

The volume of foreign direct investment in 2017, compared with 2013, decreased by 36 percent. Publication of the National Statistical Committee says.

It is noted that in 2017, the inflow of foreign direct investment was $ 616.8 million. Compared to 2016, the indicator fell by 24.2 percent. A decline was registered in all its components except for trade credits.

«The most priority types of economic activity for investments were processing industries, the sphere of professional, scientific and technical activities, financial intermediation and insurance, mining. At the same time, the volume of investments directed to the sphere of financial intermediation and insurance decreased 2.2 times, the work of processing enterprises — by 25.8%, professional, scientific and technical activities — by 19.7%. But investments in mining enterprises, on the contrary increased 1.5 times,» the report says.
