Test video cameras for Safe City project dismantled

The video cameras installed in test mode for Safe City project are being dismantled. Readers informed 24.kg news agency.

The day before, the video surveillance camera was removed from the intersection of Ibraimov and Frunze Streets along with the sign of additional information Photo-video recording.

The camera at the intersection of Baitik Baatyr and Gorky Streets has not yet been dismantled.

As the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Information Technologies and Communications Kubanych Shatemirov said, the cameras were installed by a private company. «We got an analytics on them, prepared a feasibility study, held an auction. It was planned to dismantle them,» he explained.

The cameras for the pilot project were provided by the Russian company Schwabe. Violations were recorded at four intersections in Bishkek. Currently, officials are preparing to launch Safe City project.

It is promised to equip 38 intersections and 52 stationary posts with video cameras for recording the violations. The winner of the auction is the Russian Vega Radio Engineering Corporation.
