Safe City. Date of project implementation not set yet

The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev held a working meeting on the results of an open auction for Safe City project. The press service of the government reported.

According to the Chairman of the State Committee for Information Technologies and Communications Bakyt Sharshembiev, the Russian Vega Radio Engineering Corporation was chosen as the winner of the auction.

«The cost of implementation of project was set at 2,320 billion soms, which is 230 million soms less than the announced starting price. Vega, the radio engineering company, offered 1,125 billion soms for the first lot, and 1,195 billion soms — for the second lot. After an audit, the company will have to transfer the funds as a guarantee fee,» he said.

As the head of the State Registration Service Alina Shaikova told, the working group prepared amendments to the normative legal acts. At the same time, a system for recording of violations with the delivery of protocols to the addressees has been launched in a pilot mode.

The prime minister instructed to complete the procedures necessary for the implementation of Safe City project, including the preparation of an appropriate agreement indicating specific intersections and segments of roads, where video cameras would be installed first.

«The heads of state bodies will bear personal responsibility for this work. Red-taping is unacceptable here,» said Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev.

However, the government does not inform about the date of implementation of the long-awaited project.

Three companies participated in the repeated auction for the implementation of Safe City project: Alfa Telecom, Information Systems Security and Russian Vega Corporation.
