Kyrgyzstani Erbol Bakirov becomes World Wrestling Champion

Kyrgyzstani Erbol Bakirov became the world champion among the youth in Greco-Roman wrestling. The United World Wrestling website reports.

The World Championship started on September 17 in Trnava city (Slovakia). Preliminary competitions in five weight categories took place on the first day of the championship. Decisive fights take place today.

In weight category of 55 kg, the domestic sportsman Nurtazin Kerimberdi uulu defeated Ali Hazoazi (Saudi Arabia), then defeated Zulfigar Aliyev (Azerbaijan) and lost to Mohammad Naserpur (Iran). Our athlete lost the fight for bronze medal to Emin Sefershaev (Russia) and became the 5th in the final protocol.

In weight of 63 kg, Erbol Bakirov defeated John Nutter (USA), Hrach Pogosyan (Armenia), Hlovel Van Meier (Germany) and Azamat Kairov (Russia). In the decisive battle, the Kyrgyz defeated Ahmed Mohamed (Egypt) and won gold medal.
