Almost 500 people get returnee status in Kyrgyzstan

Almost 500 people in Kyrgyzstan got returnee status. The head of the Department for Work with Returnees and Refugees of the State Migration Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, Zhypar Mambetova, told at a press conference.

Most of all returnees arrived from Tajikistan — 329 people. About 130 people moved from Uzbekistan, 18 -from China.

According to the agency, the overwhelming majority of the ethnic Kyrgyz settle in Chui, Osh regions and Bishkek.

Zhypar Mambetova reported that some Pamir Kyrgyz, who had left for home in the summer, had already left for Baydalat, Badakhshan province, to obtain a Tajik visa.

«There was information that they were offended by the Kyrgyz government and therefore returned to the Pamir. But this is not true. Some of them asked to visit their relatives during summer holidays,» she said.
