Investigators detained a suspect in the case of the death of 3 workers, who were killed when dismantling the roof of an old paper mill in Poronaisk city on Sakhalin. Russian media reported.
According to the press service of the Regional Investigation Committee, the owner of the building hired a 35-year-old individual entrepreneur from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk to dismantle it. In August, the contractor instructed a brigade of 10 citizens of Kyrgyzstan to dismantle the roof of the building in order to scrap metal floors.
As a result of the collapse of the building, three workers were killed, five were injured.
A criminal case was initiated under the Article — Violation of labor protection requirements, which caused death of two or more people through imprudence. The maximum punishment is imprisonment for seven years. Investigators petition for arrest of the detainee.
