The volume of azan in a new mosque of Bishkek was reduced to an acceptable level. The press service of the State Commission for Religious Affairs reported.
The volume was reduced in accordance with the requirements of the Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Department.
«Kyrgyzstan is a secular state, in which the right to freedom of conscience and religion is ensured. It is very important that the emerging problems not to cause interfaith tensions, but to be resolved through dialogue based on the principles of tolerance,» the report said.
Earlier, Bishkek citizens complained about a loud call to prayer in the new mosque. The Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan explained it by technical problems.
The sound level of loudspeakers in mosques should not exceed 40 decibels.
