Sapat schools built at expense of Turkish taxpayers

Sapat schools were built at the expense of the money of Turkish taxpayers. The Ambassador of Turkey to Kyrgyzstan Cengiz Kamil Firat stated this at a press conference following the visit of the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Kyrgyzstan.

Commenting on the activities of schools, the ambassador noted that it was not a closure, but transfer issue.

Schools of the former educational institution Sebat in Kyrgyzstan were built at the expense of the Turkish taxpayers. Therefore, we believe that they should be returned to the state and transferred to the balance of Maarif fund.

At the same time, Cengiz Kamil Firat said that Maarif Fund intends to build its own schools. The first institution of Maarif will appear in Bishkek.

«Maarif schools will be opened in the regions of Kyrgyzstan. I will note that educational institutions will work within the laws under the control of the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic following the example of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University,» he said.
