The World Championship was held among the beginners, schoolchildren, cadets, juniors, adults and veterans. Athletes competed for medals in No-Gi (without a kimono) and Gi (in a kimono) sections. The team of Kyrgyzstan won a gold, 6 silver and 14 bronze medals.
Aidai Orozbekova won the only gold medal. Competing among the schoolgirls in No-Gi section in the weight of 57 kg, she defeated three Russians and a representative of Ukraine.
