Kyrgyzstan to hand over glacier water to Turkey within WNG

Kyrgyzstan will hand over glacial water to Turkey as a baton of the World Nomad Games. The First Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Kubatbek Boronov announced this at a press conference today.

According to him, the 3rd World Nomad Games were successful and held at a high organizational level, becoming one of the most significant events in the history of our and all nomad peoples. The organizers tried to recreate the atmosphere in which nomads lived several centuries ago.

The world community called the WNG one of the unique events. «The program was eventful. Guests could personally see the history of nomadic culture from antiquity to modern times. I am confident that in the future this project will develop and involve new participants,» said Kubatbek Boronov.

As noted, 303 million soms were allocated for the Games. The prize fund of the sports part was 28 million.

Nearly 2,000 people from 74 countries fought for the victory. Kyrgyzstan leads in the medal standings with 100 medals, including 40 gold medals.

The ceremony of closure of the 3rd World Nomad Games will begin today at 8 pm at Cholpon-Ata hippodrome. Guests will enjoy a bright and memorable show with participation of 500 artists, stuntmen and athletes. The ceremony of handing the baton of the WNG to Turkey, where they will be held in 2020, will also take place. Its representatives will get glacial water, which symbolizes the commitment of the Kyrgyz Republic to the protection of water resources.

«This is an alternative to the Olympic flame,» Kubatbek Boronov said.
