The main flows of migration to Bishkek come from the southern regions of the country — Osh, Batken and Jalal-Abad regions. The head of the Department of the State Migration Service Ulan Sharsheyev told at a round table discussion.
According to him, in addition to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstanis migrate to other large cities — Osh and Jalal-Abad.
«We should not forget that Chui region is a transit region. Our citizens leave from there for other countries. That is, they live in the region, earn money for a ticket in Bishkek and leave the country, for example, go to Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey,» said Ulan Sharsheyev.
The official noted that the main causes of internal migration were the lack of infrastructure, social security and unemployment.
