The technical regulations on the safety of oil and the requirements for the quality of fuel — petrol, diesel, aviation fuel — will come into force in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union in 2019. The deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use Alymbek Orozbekov told today at a press conference.
The technical regulation on fuel safety for Kyrgyzstan will come into force on August 12, 2019.
The document assumes that the Union countries can use only K-4 and K-5 fuel. However, the equipment of oil refineries does not allow producing fuel of this quality.
«The oil refineries have already begun work to attract investment for modernization. The problem is that the modernization of these plants requires significant investment. We work together with the Investment Promotion Agency to find investors. But there are difficulties as of today. We hope that the plants will have time to modernize the equipment by the set date and will start producing fuel of better quality,» concluded Alymbek Orozbekov.
