Digital economy, transit on agenda of Eurasian Intergovernmental Council

The agenda of the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council consists of 19 issues. Russian media reported.

It is noted that the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council with the participation of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will take place on July 26-27 in St. Petersburg under the chairmanship of Dmitry Medvedev. The meeting will focus on the issues of digital development of the states of the Eurasian Economic Union, cooperation in the fields of energy and transport, industrial and customs cooperation, and improvement of the regulatory and legal framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.

In particular, the sides plan to consider the issues of creation of a single system for the transit of goods across the customs territory of the EEU using technical means. In addition, the parties will discuss the issue of crediting and distribution of import customs duties between the budgets of the member states and some other issues. Bilateral talks in the northern capital are also planned.

The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev will also take part in the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. Noting is known about bilateral meetings between the head of the Cabinet of Ministers and his colleagues in the union so far.

Recall, Kyrgyzstan became a full member of EEU on August 12, 2015.
