Kyrgyzstan improves its position in Global Innovation Index 2018

Kyrgyzstan took the 94th place out of 126 on the level of its innovative development. Global Innovation Index 2018 report, compiled by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and a number of research centers, says.

As noted, the raking is based on 80 parameters that are used for evaluation and gives a full picture of innovative development, including an overview of the political situation, the state of education, the level of infrastructure and business development.

Compared to the previous year, the Kyrgyz Republic climbed one position up in the ranking (95th in 2017), improving indicators in such areas as institutions, human capital and research, knowledge and technology outputs.

In 2018, Russia takes the 46th place between Vietnam and Chile in the ranking. Kazakhstan takes the 74th place, Armenia — 68th , Belarus — 86th , Tajikistan — 101st.

According to experts, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Singapore became the most innovative countries this year.
