Kyrgyzstan takes next to the last place in CIS in the production of poultry meat. The president of the Association of Poultry Breeders, Rustam Osmonaliev, announced this at a round table discussion today.
According to him, only Tajikistan is below. Despite this, poultry enterprises there are exempt from VAT on the import of feed and vitamins for the birds.
«We had the same proposal. The bill was submitted for public discussion. However, the Ministry of Economy said that there was no money in the budget to support poultry producers,» Rustam Osmonaliev said.
Recall, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic proposed to abolish VAT on the import of feed for birds. Poultry meat is imported from the third countries; only 2% of the country’s consumption is imported from EEU countries. Kyrgyzstanis consume 94 percent of the imported chicken meat. Domestic poultry breeding is in critical condition.
It was planned to allocate 1.4 billion soms from the budget to support the poultry farms.
The large influx of eggs imported from Kazakhstan and Russia and their low dumping price led to the bankruptcy of the local producers of this product.
