Lawyer Nurbek Toktakunov appealed against the measure of restraint to Sapar Isakov in the Supreme Court. He informed 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the Bishkek City Court earlier set the term of detention to the former prime minister until August 13.
«We petition to change the measure for house arrest or a written undertaking not to leave the city. Sapar Isakov does not complain about either health or conditions of detention,» said Nurbek Toktakunov and added that the Supreme Court would consider the preventive measure on July 24.
At least four criminal cases were initiated and seven former top managers of the energy sector were arrested, including the former head of the Energy Holding Aibek Kaliev, the former general director of Electric Stations JSC Salaidin Avazov, on the breakdown and modernization of Bishkek HPP.
In addition, another former Prime Minister, Zhantoro Satybaldiev, ex-mayor of Bishkek, Kubanychbek Kulmatov, are in custody. Deputy Osmonbek Artykbaev was hospitalized. He is to be operated. All of them were charged with corruption.
