EEU countries to exchange information about dangerous products

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) started work on the creation of a system that would allow the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and EEC to exchange information about the products that pose a serious risk to the health and safety of the consumers. The press service of the EEC reported.

This system will make it possible to withdraw the products that do not meet technical requirements, detected in the market of one of the EEU countries, from circulation throughout the Union. The system will be created within the EEU integrated information system.

«The project was developed taking into account the international normative documents and information on the existing international systems. According to the document, the authorized bodies of the EEU countries must take all measures provided by the law to prevent and suppress the circulation of the products that do not meet the requirements of technical regulations and their release into circulation in case if information about it is contained in the information system on dangerous products,» the statement says.

A pilot project on informing will be launched in the near future. These are technical regulations on the safety of low-voltage equipment, products intended for the children and adolescents, toys, wheeled vehicles.

Currently, EEC is developing a transitional order that will define the requirements for interaction between the competent authorities of the member states and EEC in the framework of the pilot project.
