According to official data, about 12 percent of the young people in Kyrgyzstan are unemployed, but according to experts’ estimates, there are more than 20 percent of them. Coordinator of Class NGO Aizat Ruslanova voiced such data at the round table «Improving the effectiveness of departments on contribution to employment of the young people.»
«The State Agency for Youth Affairs should include on the agenda of the Council on Youth Affairs under the Government issues of engagement and employment. Only they will be decided at the national level. The economic well-being of Kyrgyzstan directly depends on where the youth work, how they are employed,» she noted.
According to the organization, there are about 201,000 unemployed people in the country. At the same time, only 86,009 citizens are registered with the employment service.
The problem of youth unemployment is becoming increasingly important. Almost 60 percent of officially registered unemployed young people do not have a job for a long time, and there are many university graduates (14 percent) among them.
