The police detained about 30 Kyrgyz citizens in Tagansky district of Moscow. The lawyer of the migrants Valentina Chupik informed 24.kg news agency.
According to her, seven people applied to her for help.
«In total, there are about 30 people in the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The police do not explain the reasons for the detention. Detentions began at around midnight. The people, who applied to me, are in the police department since 6.00 am. They were detained only because they were the Kyrgyz. This is a traditional form of detention in Russia. There are no grounds for this,» said Valentina Chupik.
She also stated that illegal detention of migrants occurred quite often.
«I asked to send me the documents of those who have them. This was done by seven people, but this does not mean that the other detainees do not have all the documents,» added Valentina Chupik.
