For the first half of 2018, there were 1,593 fires in Kyrgyzstan, including 522 cases caused by careless handling of fire. The interim head of the Fire Fighting and Prevention Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic Irina Yaschina told today at a press conference.
According to her, 35 people were injured in the fires, including one child. The fire and rescue teams rescued 56 people. A lot of preventive measures have been carried out, including lectures, briefings, radio and television speeches.
She noted that carelessness sometimes leads to irreparable consequences, and called for observance of the basic safety rules, in particular, to clean the places of rest, do not leave open sources of fire unattended. «If you burn garbage, watch the process. Keep electrical appliances and cars, which in case of heat can fail, in good condition,» said Irina Yaschina. «Your safety begins with yourselves.»
