The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev instructed to take measures to improve the situation in the mining industry. The press service of the Cabinet reported.
According to its data, today Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev held a working meeting on the current state and prospects for the development of the mining industry. He stressed that an extremely difficult situation has developed in the sphere of subsoil use. And it is connected in many respects with inactivity and uncoordinated work of the state bodies.
«The existing problems hamper the work of investors and adversely affect the development of the economy. We see that there are problematic issues at almost all mines — large taxpayers. This situation is unacceptable. It is necessary to take urgent measures to overcome the current situation,» Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev stressed.
The head of the government drew attention to the fact that the development of the mining industry was often hindered by the local population. At the same time, he is sure that the protests take place due to the lack of information on the activities of subsoil users and fears of possible environmental risks.
«Imperfection of the tender procedures turns off many investors who are ready to invest in the industry. In addition, the state bodies do not monitor the fulfillment of the obligations specified in the license agreement at the proper level. Some of the employees of the State Ecological Inspectorate do not fulfill their functional duties regarding inspections. If such inspectors do not cope with their work, appropriate disciplinary measures should be taken against them, up to and including dismissal,» the Prime Minister stressed.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers instructed state the bodies to develop and introduce amendments to the normative legal acts on the protection of the environment and ecology, compliance with technological processes in the development of deposits, as well as in matters of land reclamation. Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev instructed to start a real fight against corruption in the sphere of subsoil use. He said that the progress of fulfilling the given instructions would be under his personal control.
