The First Vice Mayor of Bishkek Renat Makenov was arrested until the end of the investigation. According to the press center of the State Committee for National Security, he was charged with corruption within the criminal case initiated by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic.
By the decision of the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek, Renat Makenov was taken into custody and placed into SCNS pretrial detention center until the end of the investigation.
According to the investigation, Renat Makenov, in collusion with certain officials of the Bishkek City Administration, in violation of the land legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic, provided a private individual with a 3.5-hectare land plot located in the southern zone of Bishkek for immediate use.
The investigation is underway.
