Eight resorts on Issyk-Kul Lake are not ready to receive tourists. The head of the Interregional Department of the State Inspectorate for Environmental and Technical Safety Tilek Tekebayev told today at a press conference.

In 2017, eight resorts did not work, as they did not comply with environmental and technical standards. They needed money to meet safety requirements. The objects were mothballed.

According to the instruction of the State Ecological Inspectorate, Kazak Tukumu, Belek, Bereke, Teltoru, Academy of Sciences, Pine Grove, Cooperator, Sayakat Smena do not receive tourists this year.

According to the head of the Department for Environmental and Technical Safety Talant Borochorov, the treatment facilities in resorts are working. There is an improvement from year to year. At least 25 new treatment facilities have been built for 3 years in Issyk-Kul district. Last year, water samples from the lake showed that there were no exceedance of permissible standards.

The acting head of the Fire Safety Department of the State Ecological Inspectorate Ulan Uraliev added that resorts were checked every year before the start of the tourist season, including for fire safety. As a result of the inspection, four fines were set (for 27,000 soms).
