Supreme Court to consider measure of restraint for Sapar Isakov

The measure of restraint for the former Prime Minister Sapar Isakov was appealed in the Supreme Court. The lawyer Nurbek Toktakunov informed 24.kg news agency. The meeting of the Board of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic has not been appointed yet.

«I filed a supervisory complaint against the decision to change the measure of restraint in the Supreme Court. We are waiting for the notice,» said Nurbek Toktakunov.

The Bishkek City Court earlier upheld the decision of the Pervomaisky District Court to arrest Sapar Isakov till the end of the investigation.

Four criminal cases were initiated and seven former top managers of the energy sector were arrested within the criminal case on the breakdown and modernization of Bishkek HPP, including the former head of the Energy Holding Aibek Kaliev and the former general director of Electric Stations OJSC Salaidin Avazov.

In addition, two former prime ministers — Sapar Isakov and Zhantoro Satybaldiev, ex-mayor of Bishkek Kubanychbek Kulmatov and MP Osmonbek Artykbaev — are in custody. All of them were charged with corruption.
