The Ministry of Finance told 24.kg news agency what the money, collected for the payment of the state debt, was spent on.
Recall, in 2007 Almazbek Atambayev signed an order to create a national account in the National Bank. The first account in soms was opened in June. It was closed on July 24, 2012.
Only 803,817.77 soms have been collected during this time.
The second national account was also opened in 2007, but in dollars. Even less money — $ 3,350 was collected. It was closed in 2012, and money was converted into soms (157,955.85 soms).
The Ministry of Finance told the Supervisory Board was formed when creating the accounts. It controlled the movement of the funds. The department confirmed that the money actually was transferred to the accounts of the Central Treasury into the revenue side of the budget.
«By the decision of the Supervisory Board dated March 6, 2012, all means were directed to repay the external debt. In the same year, the government’s decision to create a national account was declared invalid, and therefore it was closed,» the Finance Ministry commented.
