More than 500 people have been convicted of extremism and terrorism in Kyrgyzstan. The Chairman of the State Service for Punishment Execution Taalaibek Zhaparov told at a press conference.
According to him, those convicted of extremism and terrorism are kept separately from other prisoners.
«There are people, who got suspended sentences. There are those, who are serving their sentences in penal settlements. For exemplary conduct, some of the convicts may work under contract and just visit the penal settlement,» said Taalaibek Zhaparov.
