A campaign in support of the Russian national football team took place today in Bishkek.
The optimistic young people gathered at the monument to Ivan Panfilov. The fans and football players were among them. They held flags of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation and sang: «Ole, ole, ole! Russia — champion!»
The campaign was timed to the FIFA World Cup, which starts today in Russia. The match between Russia and Saudi Arabia will open the World Cup.
«This campaign was initiated by the youth through social networks and communities. It comes from the heart,» the organizer of the campaign, public figure, Ildar Sadykov, told 24.kg news agency. «The goal is to express support for the Russian team. We sincerely hope that it will win and the cup will remain with us this year, in the post-Soviet space, in Russia.»
