Criminal cases frighten investors off from Kyrgyzstan. The President of the Association of Markets, Trade Enterprises and Services Sergey Ponomarev said at a roundtable discussion in 24.kg news agency.
According to him, all countries in the world are competing for investment. All need them. It is a common task to attract investments into the country.
«Our neighbors conduct bright and successful positioning for investors. We see how Uzbekistan has changed. Kazakhstan provides financial benefits. We can not compete at this level. But we must position ourselves as a country with a liberal economy. Regulation of the economic sector should give guarantees to investors,» said Sergey Ponomarev.
He added that corruption in the country is dangerous from the point of view of national security.
«Business is embarrassed when criminal cases are opened against business structures. We need to maintain a balance in order the fight against corruption not to go beyond the law,» said Sergey Ponomarev.
