President of Kyrgyzstan to participate in SCO summit

The President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov will take part in the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Qingdao.

The heads of India and Pakistan will take part in the upcoming SCO summit for the first time as its full members. At the summit in Qingdao, the Chinese side will complete its presidency over SCO Council of Heads of State and hand it over to Kyrgyzstan.

As a part of the summit, Sooronbai Jeenbekov will meet with the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga.

As the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Erlan Abdyldaev told journalists, 17 documents are planned to be signed at the summit. «SCO becomes an attractive organization precisely because of the Shanghai spirit, the principles of mutual understanding, mutual trust, support and the principle of consensus in the adoption of all decisions,» he said.
