Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek, at the request of the investigator of the State Committee for National Security, changed the measure of restraint for the ex-mayor of the capital, Kubanychbek Kulmatov. He was arrested until June 28.
Recall, the ex-mayor of the capital was charged with corruption. Until recently, he was under a written undertaking not to leave the country. However, the day before, Kubanychbek Kulmatov was summoned for another interrogation, where it became known that the SCNS investigator was applying for his arrest.
The lawyer of the ex-mayor, Sergey Slesarev, believes that there are no grounds for Kubanychbek Kulmatov’s arrest.
A criminal case was initiated against the ex-mayor of the capital Kubanychbek Kulmatov. According to the investigation’s version, in 2014, he, being the mayor of Bishkek, illegally used $ 2 million grant, provided by TBEA in the framework of modernization of the Bishkek Heating and Power Plant, for the construction of two new schools in the regions. Kubanychbek Kulmatov redirected funds from the government to the Bishkek City Administration under the pretext of building a school in Kalys-Ordo residential area.
Recall, the former Prime Minister, Sapar Isakov, was arrested for two months.
