«Statements that we want to draw up an agreement on allocation of land for the Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan by the president’s state visit to the PRC are not entirely true. The internal procedures are in accordance with the established procedure,» the head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, Daniyar Sydykov, told reporters.
According to him, the decision to allocate land for use by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China was made in 2003. The land is allocated in order the Chinese partners can build the embassy building and create the necessary conditions for work in it. However, the Kyrgyz side negotiated over the allocation of a land for the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Beijing on parity terms. The sides have managed to reach an agreement.
«The PRC will allocate 25 hundred square meters for the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Beijing and help with the construction of the embassy building and a house for our diplomats. This is an intergovernmental agreement. Then domestic procedures began. When they are completed, we will sign the corresponding agreement,» Daniyar Sydykov told.
