President knows what to do to reduce number of orphans in Kyrgyzstan

The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sooronbai Jeenbekov, visited the Specialized Children and Family Rehabilitation Center (Children’s Home) in Bishkek on the International Child Protection Day.

The head of state inspected the building, got acquainted with the conditions of raising children and talked to the staff. Its residents showed a small concert.

The President presented a certificate for 500,000 soms for repairing the Children’s Home, and the children received gifts, sweets and fruits.

Sooronbai Jeenbekov stressed that educators perform the noblest work, caring for children and giving them their love.

«Unfortunately, the number of children entering orphanages and children’s homes is increasing from year to year. The number of children, who have both parents, in the orphanages increases,» he said.

Many citizens would like to adopt children, but excessive red taping during the adoption process hampers them. It is necessary to carry out a reform aimed at excluding bureaucracy in the system of adoption. Then the children would be brought up in families, and not in orphanages, and their number would decrease.

The Specialized Center for Children and Family Rehabilitation is designed for 110 beds, where children left without parental care as well as children with mental and physical development defects from birth to four years are raised.
