Sapar Isakov repeatedly summoned for interrogation

The former prime minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sapar Isakov, was again summoned for interrogation to the State Committee for National Security. The press service of the committee confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.

The reason for the second interrogation was not explained.

Gulnura Toralieva posted on Facebook that he was summoned because of the published letter for official use in the name of Almazbek Atambayev, signed by Sapar Isakov and Nursulu Akhmetova. «In the letter, they, as heads of the departments, write to their direct chief that, according to all experts’ estimates, the situation in the energy sector is complex, and that the heating and power plant needs modernization because it is operating at its full capacity, and breakdowns are possible that then happened in the old part of the HPP. There are also all the proposals of the companies and it says that it is necessary to hold negotiations on reducing the cost,» she said.

Sapar Isakov was already summoned for questioning on April 26 on the issue of modernization of Bishkek HPP. Seven former top managers of the energy industry have already been arrested within the case, including the former head of the Energy Holding Aibek Kaliev, the former general director of Electric Stations JSC Salaidin Avazov. All seven were officially charged with corruption.
