At least 10.2 tons of shelled walnuts and 165 kilograms of peanuts from Kyrgyzstan have been detained by inspectors of Rosselkhoznadzor Department for Novosibirsk region at the phytosanitary control post Karasuk. Russian media reported.
Employees of Rosselkhoznadzor found out that the nuts were transported without a phytosanitary certificate, confirming their safety. The products were planned to be sold in the markets of Krasnoyarsk and Chita.
According to quarantine legislation, the import of high phytosanitary risk products into Russia is prohibited. The cargo was returned to the senders in Kyrgyzstan.
