«Thanks to the work of search movements, the names of many unknown soldiers, who died during the war, have been eternalized,» the President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov said. The Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration reported.
The head of state met today with the head of the search movement «Our Victory — Bizdin Zhenish» Svetlana Lapteva and the founders of Erdik-Podvig Public Foundation Kanybek and Gulnara Myrzakanovs. He congratulated them on the upcoming Victory Day, noting that people meet this holiday with tears in our eyes. «We won thanks to the unity of the Soviet people. Our people showed a unique example of heroism,» Sooronbai Jeenbekov stressed.
They discussed issues related to search works, the possibility of providing financial assistance in the organization of search trips and assistance in the search for archival documents in the state institutions.
Kanybek Myrzakanov pointed out the need for broad support of the work of the search movements of the country.
Sooronbai Jeenbekov thanked Svetlana Lapteva and Kanybek Myrzakanov for their careful attitude to history, hard and selfless work. «It deserves respect,» he said.
«Soldiers-Kyrgyzstanis together with the whole country fought on the fronts and made a weighty contribution to the victory over fascism. Unfortunately, many of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers have not returned from the battlefields, someone has disappeared without a trace. Their fate remains unclear,» the president said. «It is important that now their grandchildren and great-grandchildren are not indifferent to their history. They want to preserve the memory of their loved ones.»
The head of state noted that the state bodies would provide comprehensive support to search movements on all the issues raised at the meeting.
