Several Bishkek streets to be closed for traffic on May 9

In connection with the forthcoming festive events in honor of the 73rd anniversary of the Victory Day, the Bishkek police switched to heavy security regime.

According to the press service of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the capital, more than 2,000 employees of the Bishkek garrison will provide public order and security of the citizens and guests.

Movement of traffic on the central streets of the capital will be temporary blocked:

— on Masaliev Street to Baitik Baatyr Avenue (section in front of the Victory Park at the Southern Gate),

— on Baitik Baatyr Avenue and Abdrakhmanov Street (from Masaliev to Frunze Street),

— on Frunze Street (a section from Abdrakhmanov to Ibraimov Street),

— on Shopokov and Ibraimov Streets (a section from Chui Avenue to Jumabek Street).

During «Immortal Regiment» march, the police will confiscate forbidden objects (piercing and cutting objects, alcoholic drinks, fireworks, weapons of any type, including self-defense means).

The townspeople are asked to plan their route in Bishkek in advance. Participants of the march are not recommended to take large and voluminous items with them.

The police ask to be sympathetic to the security measures and apologize for the inconvenience.
