The draft resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic «On approval of the norm of gas losses for 2018» was submitted for public discussion.
In 2017, the loss norm was approved in the amount of 10.1 percent of the supply, so the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use considers it possible to approve the gas loss in 2018 in the amount of 28.9 million cubic meters, or 9.5 percent of the total planned volume of gas supplies to the republic.
«The main causes of gas losses are significant deterioration of gas pipelines and obsolete equipment installed at gas distribution facilities, service life of which is 25-30 years without replacement. In connection with the deterioration of the entire system, it is planned to reconstruct and modernize the facilities,» the Cabinet noted.
A major overhaul of unreliable sections of gas pipelines and reconstruction of gas supply facilities is planned in 2018. This will allow in subsequent years to begin a phased reduction of loss norms.
Gazprom Kyrgyzstan LLC delivers natural gas to virtually all regions of Kyrgyzstan.
At the same time, 24 percent of the potential number of consumers have been supplied with gas.
It is also planned to carry out a large-scale reconstruction of gas supply facilities in order not only to reduce the loss norms, but also to increase the percentage of gas consumers in all regions of the country.
