A jubilee postage stamp «25th anniversary of national currency of the Kyrgyz Republic» was put into circulation. The press service of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The State Committee of Information Technologies and Communications issued the stamp with a circulation of 3,000 copies and a denomination of 117 soms on the initiative of the National Bank.
Kyrgyzstan was one of the first countries of the former USSR (and the first in post-Soviet Central Asia) to approve its own national currency. The Supreme Council of Kirghizia adopted the resolution on its introduction on May 3, 1993.
