The President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov received the Chairwoman of the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums Nurzhan Shayldabekova. The Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration reported.
They discussed measures and tasks to improve the electoral legislation of the country. Nurzhan Shayldabekova informed about the preparation for the elections to local councils.
Sooronbai Jeenbekov recommended to intensify work on improving the electoral legislation, strengthening the party system, noting the special role of political parties in the development of the parliamentary system.
At the same time, he stressed the need for public and parliamentary discussion of the vital issues of the electoral system, a clear timetable, so that the necessary amendments were made and explained to the participants in advance of the next elections.
