Kyrgyzstan and the European Union intend to consistently develop cooperation. The President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov stated at a meeting with the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker.

«My visit to the institutions of the European Union shows that Kyrgyzstan attaches priority to cooperation with the European Union. We consider the EU as an important partner and are ready for closer interaction,» said Sooronbai Jeenbekov.

He noted that extensive negotiations and useful meetings with the leadership of the institutions of the European Union along with a frank and constructive conversation on a wide range of issues of mutual interest were held.

«We are interested in deepening multifaceted and mutually beneficial cooperation with the European Union. We attach great importance to the negotiations on a new agreement on enhanced partnership and cooperation of Kyrgyzstan with the EU,» the head of state said.

The agreement is relevant in strengthening the political dialogue, expanding trade and economic relations, attracting advanced European investments and improving cooperation in the field of sustainable development, foreign policy and regional security policy.
