The investigative service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan detained the former head of the State Property Management Fund Bolsunbek Kazakov. Press service of the ministry reported.
He is charged with abuse of official position and its illegal use in the privatization, tax, customs or licensing activities.
Previously, a scandal over the sale of 48 cottages for 142 million soms on 12.4 hectares near the state residence Ala-Archa broke out. There is a few information about the winner of the auction — VostokTechKomplekt company. Some people were concerned that the state property was sold at an unreasonably low price.
The State Property Management Fund reported that the nationalized objects were put up for sale nine times, but because of the lack of buyers, Public Association of Kyrgyz Appraisers accessed the cost of the objects.
The former head of the State Property Management Fund Bolsunbek Kazakov claimed that the initial price of the cottages was 242 million soms, but it decreased because the objects were put up for sale nine times. «The cost of the complex was not reduced artificially in the interests of certain people. The objects were sold to the bidder who offered the highest price, taking into account the legality and other conditions,» the head of the fund stated then.
A criminal case was opened on the sale of cottages. The former official was placed in the pretrial detention center. The investigation is under way.
