The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov instructed the Chairman of the State Service for Punishment Execution, Talaibek Zhaparov, to consider within the current legislation the possibility of dismantling CCTV camera from the cell, where convicted Omurbek Tekebayev is serving his sentence. The government’s executive office reported.

The issue was raised by the leader of Ata Meken parliamentary faction Almambet Shykmamatov at yesterday’s meeting of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Judicial, Legal Issues and Regulations of the Parliament.

The chairman of the state service said that the issue would be resolved positively, the petition submitted by the convicted Omurbek Tekebayev would be granted.

The camera will be removed.

Recall, video surveillance camera was installed in the cell of the convicted politician. The convict and his supporters resented this and complained to various agencies, including the UN Human Rights Committee.
