Terrorist from Syria arrested in Kyrgyzstan

The staff of the State Committee for National Security detained a man, who was trained in foreign camps of international terrorist organizations. Press service of SCNS reported.

The detention took place during counter-terrorism measures aimed at suppression of the attempts of militants from the Syrian-Iraqi zone of armed conflict to enter Kyrgyzstan to prepare and commit terrorist acts.

«It was found out that the detainee participated in military operations against the Syrian government troops as a member of bandit formations. A criminal case was initiated and investigated under the article «Mercenarism» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The detainee was placed in the pretrial detention center of SCNS of the Kyrgyz Republic,» SCNS informed.
