Employees of Internal Affairs Department torture pregnant woman

A criminal case was instituted in connection with torture by Osh police officers against a pregnant woman. The Information Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to it, statement of a woman, citizen of Kyrgyzstan, for the police says that the police officers, despite her pregnancy, tortured her to get confessions about complicity in the murder of Lieutenant Colonel Tairbek Ularov.

In March 2017, police officers delivered the woman to Ak-Buura police department and unreasonably kept her there from midnight to 5.30 am.

A comprehensive forensic and psycho-psychiatric examination showed that the woman was subjected to moral violence by police officers. As a result, her mental health was harmed that led to premature termination of pregnancy. Currently, she suffers from a prolonged depressive disorder.

The investigation of the criminal case was entrusted to the Main Investigation Department of the State Committee for National Security.
