Official comments on request of Uzbek colleagues for pastures lease

The head of Andijan region Shukhrat Abdurakhmanov voiced a suggestion on possible lease of remote pastures in Alay district of Osh region the day before at the meeting of the Council of Heads of Border Areas of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in Fergana region. This caused an active discussion among the public in the region.

Plenipotentiary representative of the Government of Kyrgyzstan in Osh region Taalaybek Sarybashev, responding to the questions of 24.kg news agency, recalled that during the Soviet Union times, the rent of pastures for agricultural needs of the neighboring republic was practiced at Sary-Tash pastures. However, now, according to the plenipotentiary representative, this issue requires a separate comprehensive consideration.

As Taalaybek Sarybashev noted, in the near future, meetings with the participation of the heads of relevant state structures are expected, but now it is too early to say anything about this. Such decisions are made only after agreement at the highest level.

Taalaybek Sarybashev added that border issues are still unresolved, and work on their resolution continues.
