Kant airbase hosts memorial service for victims of Kemerovo fire

A memorial service for the victims of a large fire in the shopping center Winter Cherry in Kemerovo took place in Alexander Nevsky church in the territory of the CSTO airbase Kant. The military unit informed.

It is noted that, with the blessing of the Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, funeral services for the dead are held in all Orthodox churches. Therefore, the Alexander Nevsky church hosted the memorial service for the repose of the souls of the victims of the tragedy.

«The church was full of the churchgoers. People did not remain indifferent to the grief of the others and came to light candles and pray for the repose of their compatriots. The funeral service was headed by the Assistant to the Commander of the CSTO airbase Kant for work with religious servicemen, Priest Evgeniy Tsiklauri,» the military unit reported.

According to the latest information, 64 people were killed in the fire in Winter Cherry shopping center. Bodies of 20 people have been identified. DNA testing is needed for the identification of all the victims.

The fire in the four-story shopping center Winter Cherry in Kemerovo occurred on March 25. The fire source located on the top floor, where several cinemas and children’s playgrounds with amusement rides were located. The tenant of the premises, where the epicenter of the fire was supposed to be, and the head of the management company, serving the shopping center building, were detained within the criminal case.
