Parliament approves Issyk-Kul region as place of film festival

Deputies of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan adopted a resolution to hold an international film festival in Issyk-Kul region within the framework of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.

It is noted that the winners will not receive a cash prize. Winners will be awarded figurines.

Deputy Kanybek Imanaliev recalled that the film festival will be held in Russian as a language of nationwide communication of the Commonwealth countries.

Deputy Mirlan Zheenchoroyev added that thanks to this event, Kyrgyzstan will be known in the world not only as a state hit by revolutions and corruption, but also as a country with own cultural heritage.

The Parliament instructed the government to find money for the film festival.
