Two children's tuberculosis hospitals to be merged in Kyrgyzstan

The Ministry of Health decided to merge two children’s TB hospitals into one because of the lack of occupancy. Amangeldy Murzaliyev, deputy head of the ministry, said at a meeting of the Parliament today.

Deputies are considering amendments to the law on protecting the population from tuberculosis. Deputy Torobay Zulpukarov was indignant that the children’s tuberculosis hospital in the village of Archaly in Alamudun district of Chui region is in a deplorable state. He demanded from the Ministry of Health to pay attention to this and carry out repairs.

«Since the opening of the hospital, no major repairs have been carried out. The hospital is designed for 80 beds. Since there was no occupancy, we decided to optimize and merge the hospital in Archały and the First Children’s Tuberculosis Hospital in Bishkek. We will carry out repairs after the merger,» Amangeldy Murzaliyev promised.
