Bishkek City Court left a civil activist Igor Trofimov in prison for four years.
He was accused of inciting ethnic hatred. The defendant must serve his sentence in a penal colony with reinforced security regime. Igor Trofimov appealed this decision to the Supreme Court.
Recall, the activist was charged in May 2017. He was detained by the police department of the Sverdlovsky district of Bishkek. Later on, Igor Trofimov proposed his candidacy for the post of president. The Central Election Commission refused to register him as candidate.
